About Us
Created in mid-2019, GothamFix is a mobile bike shop with a mission of
providing the best possible service to the professional and
recreational cycling community. At the helm of GothamFix is its founder,
Sammy who has over thirty years of knowledge and experience in the industry.
Sammy's passion for all things cycling
started back in his native country of the Dominican Republic when as a young boy he would watch cyclists participating
in tournaments ride past his home. Since then, Sammy became enamored with the sport and eventually when onto become a
professional cyclist, participating in several national and international tournaments. However, riding on the island presented its own set of problems
mainly the scarcity of bicycle service shops, and as a result Sammy had to learn to service his bicycles on his own. Whether major or minor Sammy learned to deal with any mechanical problem that faced him.
After moving to the United States, Sammy worked as a bicyclemechanic for over twenty years and continued to cycle semi-professionally. During his twenty years working in bike shops, Sammy took multiple advanced mechanic courses and became a certified Specialized, Shimano, Campagnolo, and GURU technician. However, Sammy's long-time goal has always been to start his own shop and in mid-2019 his life-long dream was finally fulfilled when he setup shop in Tribeca.
